I need to validate a 8 digit number form a txt box.
The first 7 digit must be Numbers and the 8th must be a letter.

I have read in the documentation and loads of FAQs and posts that when an
error occurs vb searches up the call stack for an error handler. This seems
to happen for calls to procedures and modules but not for calls to classes.

I have a problem with a program i made. In the form i created an 'quit'
button with an Unload Me code in the sub. That seems to work fine.
However, when i click on the cross in the controlbox then the program closes
too, but still shows in my processlist. I have to manually end the ...

I've searched my VB books, I've searched the Visual Studio library,
I've searched the comp.lang.basic.visual.* newsgroups, but I haven't
found the answer.  I'm sure it's amazingly simple, but I haven't been
able to figure it out.

What ports are available for tcp and generally not used, but available
for connection?  It's for a client/server application that talks to
itself through a tcp port.  I'm looking to find out what ports might I
take advantage of.  It will always be connecting to 127.0.0.1
