I want to create a standalone application and want to connect it to the
database of www.ncbi site
ncbi site is having their public database ..
so i am trying to create a vb application and connect it to that

Now my problem is i get the values from database perfectly but when i run
the form i see the combo box empty before clicking it but when i click it ,

I am using VB6 and true dbgrid 7. I am using the sstabs and SQL ADODC
It kind of works, I can edit existing data all day.
I can insert new rows all day, so long as after I insert a new row I
click somewhere in the grid or insert.

I am relatively new to ADO, but up to now I got things working the way

I'm new at ADO and really wanting some sample code of how to use it to open
a known xls, and get the list of worksheet names. Then once a worksheet name
is known, how to get the info from it. Also, can I get the cell formatting
info as well? or just the contents?

I need to have a server side cursor for my connection but I need to be able
to move back a record. I tried using the cursor type as dynamic when I open
the recordset but I keep getting errors. Any help would be appreciated.
