status of Printer when it is Off

Hi all,
Please any one tell me that what is the status of the printer if the printer
is off. Actually i use an Api to get the status of Printer when its is off
but i can't get the status of the off printer. Please help as soon as
possible

Unless there is a job stalled in the print queue the spooler doesn't
know what the status is at all. (This may be different for BiDi
interface printers)
Therefore the printer status will return "Ready". (dwStatus = 0 )
