I have MDT 2008 setup and running fine. I have tested it using a Dell
Latitude D600 and OptiPlex GX260. I inserted the drivers for both in
Out-Of-Box and can successfully deploy XP to both with the drivers using
Windows PE on PXE boot. I manually select the driver group for the Network
Deployment Point before I deploy to the workstation. I installed SQL Express
and configured the MDT database. I added a Make and Model for each using
workstation and configured the settings for each to use the appropriate
driver group. When I try to deploy, I'm not sure of the Nework Deployment
Point setting for the Driver group. I first tried unchecking each group, but
the drivers were not deployed. It seems to only work depending on what I have
selected for the driver groups in the Network Deployment Point. I made sure
the WMI model name is what I used for the database make and model. Basically,
I want to be able to deploy the correct driver group to the workstation I am
using without having to change the Network Deployment Point each time and
without having mutliple deployment points.
