VS 2005 Install when starting VB6

For some reason everytime I start VB6 it loads a VS2005 installation window
that forces me to enter my VB2005 CD, then takes 10-15 minutes to re-install
some component before it will open VB6.

Has anyone see this behavior?  It was working fine and just started after a
re-boot the other day.

It makes it so that it take forever to get anything done....

Hi Jack,

This issue might be related to corrupt registry or missing files. Please
help me on following points:

1) Is VB2005 running correctly?

2) Try to disable all vb6 addins by directly editing %windir%\vbaddin.ini
to change all value to zero.

3) Try to reinstall VB6.

4) Uninstall VB2005 and try to see if this issue still exists.

I repaired VS05 and VB6 and it still acted the same way.  Then I realized
that it did the same thing when Outlook (verison 2000) was loaded, so I
repaired Office.  It seems to be corrected now.

Thanks,

Jack

Hi Jack,

That might be the cause. There're some shared components between Office and
VB6.

Please feel free to let me know if the issue re-occurs.

Have a nice day!
