Setting thread priority in VB ActiveX Exe

I'm trying to lower the priority of a VB6 activeX exe with code like the
following:

SetPriorityClass GetCurrentProcess, NORMAL_PRIORITY_CLASS
SetThreadPriority GetCurrentThread, THREAD_PRIORITY_BELOW_NORMAL

The return codes on the calls look okay, but when I look at the process in
the task manager, the priority remains the same. Anybody know what's going
on?

As far as I can tell, Task manager only shows process priority, not
thread priority. So, are you saying Task Manager shows something other
than Normal for your process?

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not
necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to
land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly
overhead. -- RFC 1925
