Hi,

If the user chooses a different installation path from the usual offered
(C:\Program Files\....) does the PDWizard save this new path in the
Registry?

If so, where?

(I'm sure I should be able to locate the answer to this myself somewhere in
the documentation, but I can't find it. Sorry!)

TIA

More to the point why would you need to know?

I don't care where the user installs my apps. Any folders I
create are in the app path so my code will always work.

Hi,

OK, so I've realised the question is silly, so....
(I wanted to put sub directories under the app. directory, but of course I
don't have to refer to them absolutely do I?.)

Perhaps the next bit is less silly...

I can read a registry key value if it has a name, but what if it is a
(default) key?
What key name do I pass to the API please? I am using 'RegOpenKeyEx'

I'm still not clear why you want to read the registry

Are you aware of the App object in VB?

In particular App.Path?

Armed with this you can know where all your subdirectories
are.

Jan,

No, I wasn't aware of this command. It DOES do all I need, thanks very much!
I'm still curious about the registry however........
